In California, a dog named Marley was lying on the road while waiting for help. Next to her is another dog who waited patiently, protecting her friend who needed his help. Several hours passed, but no car stopped to check the two dogs, then someone did.
Marley's friend, a street companion named Murphy, did not want to move when a woman and a man took Marley to the car. "It was very heavy and difficult to move, but we did it," said the woman. Murphy did not abandon Marley for a second.
When they were safe in the car, Murphy curled up in Marley in the backseat, resting his head on her belly.
The woman who saved them took them to the hospital, where they took X-rays of Marley and revealed that she had several broken bones and a special surprise, Marley was pregnant with 11 puppies.
Murphy kept waiting next to her during the first terrifying days. Then Murphy apparently realized that Marley was in good hands. The woman who saved them realized that Murphy needed a home and immediately began working hard to find a home for him. "He could be with her in the hospital, but she was in such a critical situation that he wanted to run and play with her to cheer her up," said Easdale (the woman who rescued them).
Although Marley had a lot of pain, she gave birth to 11 cute puppies. Even with two legs in a cast, she was ready to be a good mother for her children.
It took two years, but with the help of her adoptive mother and veterinarians, Marley was completely cured. "Marley is now as sweet and beautiful as the day we brought her home," her adopters wrote through Facebook. "Play as if a bone had never been broken."
