Maybe you have seen movies from Italy and you fell in love with the country, its food, culture, and you were thinking about what it would be like to live there, to enjoy all that the country has to offer. If that is your case, maybe this interests you, Italy is paying foreigners to move to their villages and live there.
Molise is one of the 20 regions of Italy located in the center of the country and has about 10 towns, there are a total of 106 villages, which are inhabited by people interested in the proposal.
The reason they pay you to live there is because due to the lack of inhabitants, trade has declined and people living in the villages are forced to go to other villages to buy. And although it seems strange, much of the population born in Italy usually migrates to other countries.
Because the population is very small, the city government has decided that people from other countries are needed, therefore decided to make an offer in which they will pay you monthly to live there. Although the idea sounds very good, the government's intentions are to revive the economy, to live there there are conditions that must be met.
"We want people to invest here. They can open any kind of business: a restaurant, a stationery store, a bakery, anything! It's a way of bringing cities to life and increasing the population." - Donato Toma, president of Molise.
Although anyone is welcome to live there, the government is especially looking for young people or couples who have children to give more joy and life to the villages.
